Course description

Mentor Training Centre has been a successful Training Provider since 1988, specialising in training for Dental Nurses. We are approved by SQA to deliver the SVQ & PDA in Dental Nursing Level3 (SCQF Level 7) which enables entrance on to the GDC register. The SVQ component of the qualification is work-based and requires you to build up a portfolio of evidence comprising of 11 mandatory units. Working in a dental practice as a trainee dental nurse will ensure you gain the practical knowledge, experience and personal skills required to be competent in your job role. The knowledge required for the PDA component, is delivered via weekly online evening classes. Our experienced team will support and guide you through the qualification with a training plan tailored to suit you. This offers flexibility whilst working and gaining experience in the surgery. At induction your allocated assessor will create an individual forward plan with agreed timescales and methods of assessment; this is continually reviewed throughout the course. Reviews of progress by your assessor will be approximately every 8 to 10 weeks with ongoing support via telephone or e-mail.
