Course description
This 5 day Level 3 Delivering Physical Intervention training course has been designed for instructors intending to offer physical intervention skills training as part of the Door Supervision Award or as a stand alone unit. This course is also suitable for those who are looking to provide physical restraint training in environments dealing with mental health issues as well as schools, care homes and the NHS. F1 Training Services have been working closely with HABC and have now had this training model approved by the SIA. Once completed you will be qualified to train others in how to assess situations to decide whether physical intervention is necessary and, if so, the most appropriate methods of intervention. This award consists of two units:- Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry Delivering Physical Intervention Skills Training Learners will gain appreciation of physical interventions and the legal/professional implications of their use. Candidates will be learn how to reduce the risk of harm when physical intervention skills are used, be able to use non-aggressive physical skills to protect oneself and others from assault, also be able to use non-pain related standing holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills. And understand good practice to follow after physical interventions. Entry Requirements: At least 18 years of age Level 3 Award in Education & Training (or equivalent) Award in Delivery of Conflict Management Successful candidates will be certificated and licensed to offer the SIA Approved F1 course in Delivering Physical Intervention Training. *Please note that to be qualified to teach SIA Security courses you must have had at least 3 years sector competence within the last 10 years.* Licence & certificate will be valid for a period of 1 Year. To continue with unbroken delivery of the course, instructors will be expected to complete a refresher course on or before the expiry date of their approval. If approval lapses, the instructor may attend the 1 day refresher course up to 3 months after the expiry date (please apply for a licence extension); after 3 months instructors may need to attend a 3 day course to gain re-approval.
