Course description

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a 4-day course aimed at those who wish to work in Home Care or a Care Home. On completion of this course the learner will be invited to complete an application form and an interview for a reputable Home Care provider. COURSE CONTENT / TOPICS COVERED: The role of a Support Worker, National Care Standards, Legislation, Governance, Care Planning / Advance Care Planning (including End of Life / Palliative Care), Adult Support and Protection, Medication Awareness, Dementia (Informed Level), Infection Prevention and Control, Tissue Viability, Skin Integrity, Hand Hygiene, Continence Care, Basic Food Hygiene, Basic First Aid, Moving & Handling including Health & Safety and Risk Assessment. Day 1 Role of Support Worker, National Care Standards, Legislation, Governance, Care Planning / Advance Care Planning (including End of Life / Palliative Care). Day 2 Adult Support and Protection Medication Awareness Dementia (Informed Level) Day 3 Infection Prevention and Control, Tissue viability, Skin Integrity, Hand Hygiene, Continence Care, Basic Food Hygiene, Basic First Aid.
