Course description
This package is suitable for those wishing to get into the Hospitality and Catering industry or for those who are already working in the industry but who would like to progress by gaining formal qualifications. The REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene E-learning course will be completed online. Candidates must complete the E-learning before attending the classroom-based Customer Service Skills and Food Service Skills Courses. REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene by E-Learning Guided Learning Hours - Approximately 9 guided learning hours are required in preparation for this examination. Full tutor support will be available throughout. Form of Assessment: There is a single examination for this certificate comprising of 30 multiple-choice questions. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes. The examination will take place at a mutually agreed location and will be invigilated by DG Training. Candidates must gain a minimum of 27 marks out of the possible 45 marks to pass the examination Syllabus: • An introduction to Food Hygiene • Bacteria and their Characteristics • The Incidence of Food Poisoning and its Prevention • Personal Hygiene and Working Habits of the Food Handler • The Working Environment • Cleaning Practices • Common Food Pests and their Control • Food Legislation Customer Service Skills Guided Learning Hours A minimum of 3 guided learning hours are required for this course. Form of Assessment There is no formal examination for this course but candidate participation during the course is essential for certification. On successful completion of this course, candidates will receive an Introduction to Customer Service Skills certificate. Form of Assessment There is no formal examination for this course but candidate participation in the activities during the course is essential for certification. On successful completion of this course, candidates will receive an Introduction to Food Service Skills certificate.
