Course description
The SQA Scottish Certificate for Safe Sale and Service of Alcohol is designed principally for full and part-time staff who serve alcohol in the on and off-trade (pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants, shops, off-licences and supermarkets). The qualification meets the requirements of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. The course is designed to be run during a half day session, with the course handbooks being made available to candidates two weeks before the course to enable pre-course reading. There is a single examination for this certificate comprising of 25 multiple-choice questions. The duration of the examination is 45 minutes. Certificates will be awarded to those candidates who achieve 18 marks or more. Candidates who score 17 marks or below will be given the opportunity to re-sit the examination.
