You’ll learn how social influences can impact on people’s life chances, and the relevance this has for the care sector. You’ll explore what society can do to improve the life chances of individuals using care services. You’ll focus on certain groups, including people with mental health problems, older people and people with additional support needs (ASN). You’ll explore their specific needs and the services available to them. You’ll explore families in modern society, including the different types, social factors which influence them and the impact of social problems. You’ll also look at how to prevent the spread of infection, first aid, healthy eating and maintaining safety in a health setting.
