In the health sector - such as a GP surgery, clinic, health centre or hospital - admin roles are a bit different. Here, staff must have more specialised office skills, which are geared towards working in a medical environment. If you’d like to work in an administrative role in the health sector, then this course is ideal for you.

You'll also learn to use audio and produce medical documents from recorded instructions. You'll learn how to carry out medical reception duties, such as patient registration, making appointments and dealing with enquiries. You'll look at medical admin, including how to maintain patient records, retrieve case notes, deal with patients and operate follow up systems. You'll also explore the health sector in Scotland, and what health and social care provision there is available. Along the way, we'll help you develop your skills for employment, such as working as part of a team and creating a CV to get you noticed.
