The lift-and-shift strategy is a common move for organizations making their first foray into the cloud. This lift-and-shift strategy may feel like the easiest way to move to the cloud. Your architecture map still looks similar, and your team€™s responsibilities don€™t change. But you're not getting the full benefits of the cloud.
In this eight-course curriculum, you will learn the value and process of moving from self-managed databases (on premises or in the cloud) into fully managed Amazon Web Services (AWS) database solutions. In this curriculum, AWS Hero Alex DeBrie explains how to move to a managed database service on AWS. You can either watch Alex explain the steps of the migration process or follow along using your own AWS account. By the end of the curriculum, you will have a realistic perspective on the entire database migration process.
