Course description
This Level 2 SVQ is designed for anyone in full time employment, who is involved in a variety of areas in a hotel.The majority of the evidence for the qualification will be provided through visual observations carried out in the workplace. The candidates will also have to show that they have appropriate knowledge and understanding of their job.The qualification consists of 10 units, 3 of which are mandatory and the other 7 are selected by the individual candidates. It has specialist units relevant to all aspects of a hospitality business, including. Deal with the arrival of customers Deal with bookings Provide a linen service Prepare & clear areas for table service Serve food at the table Prepare & serve wines Produce basic vegetable dishes Prepare & cook fish Maintain & deal with payments Work effectively as part of a hospitality team Prepare customer accounts and deal with departures Collect linen & make beds Give customers a positive impression of yourself Serve alcoholic & soft drinks Cook & finish basic vegetable dishes Prepare hot & cold sandwiches Complete kitchen documentation
Learning outcome
This qualification could help the candidate progress into a role with more responsibility. They may also be able to progress onto the Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Level 3 SVQ.
