Course description

Our Access to Nursing course is exactly what you will need if you are thinking of a career in nursing or care.If you would like to train for employment in the health industry, this could be the course for you.Health care is provided in settings such as nursing homes, residential homes, hospitals and resource centres for people with learning disabilities. The demands for a skilled health care workforce are increasing.This course provides a range of topics both theoretical and practical related to working in this sector.Care workers must operate from a good ethical value base and so you will study the principles underpinning the National Occupational Standards and National Care Standards. Learning outcome

Entry requirements

You should have at least 3 National 5s or NC Child, Health and Social Care or equivalent. If you don't meet our entry requirements, your previous experience may still qualify you for this course.You are required to have a satisfactory Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check to enable participation in work placement. This will be provided as a mandatory part of your course.We'll be inviting you by email to attend course information sessions between now and the start of your course. We'd urge you to come along if at all possible.
