Access to Nursing (SWAP)

Course description

This course is a SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme) which supports adults, ordinarily resident in Scotland to return to education after a gap. It will help you to develop the skills you need to progress into Higher Education, to a wide range of HNC, HND and degree level courses.If would like to find out more about SWAP, and see what progression routes are available, you can view more information here. During the course you will have contact with vulnerable groups of people, therefore to successfully complete the course, you are required to be a member of the PVG Scheme. Learning outcome

You can apply for our HNC Social Care, HNC Care and Administrative Practice or HNC/BA Social Sciences courses.Successful completion of this course will allow you to apply to study on the BSc Nursing at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI).You may also be able to join the degree course in Nursing at the University of Dundee or Stirling. Similar programmes at other Scottish universities may also be open to you.
