Course description

Starting in January this 18 week course will offer you an overview of the skills required across a variety of engineering sectors.. It is ideal for school leavers or career changers. It will introduce you to the practical skills required across a range of engineering subjects including mechanical, electrical and electronic and supports you to make more a more educated decision about which engineering career you may wish to follow.Special features You will gain a range of skills across different engineering disciplines. This course will help prepare you for employment or an apprenticeship with local employers.Course content includes: Machining Welding knowledge Hand skills Electronic circuit construction Assembly skills Fabrication Core skills: Numeracy, Communication and IT

Learning outcome

On successful completion of this course you may: Enter employment in the engineering industry Progress onto a Modern Apprenticeship Progress into further study at SCQF Level 5 in Engineering Performance or Electronic Engineering subjects
