Course description

This course will explore the synergy between Art and Archaeology, through a combination of lectures, discussion, and field work. Working with UHI Lecturers you will explore the subject matter with expert tutelage, producing creative work with a grounding in archaeological enquiry. Aimed at creative practitioners or those with an interest in both subject areas.Day 1Intro to the course and meet the groupIntroduction to Archaeology and methods for recording.Explore the synergy and intersections. Day 2Pre-recorded site visit, Dr Emily Gal and Rosie Blake in conversation.Presentation on specific sites related to themes of climate/environment/weather.Phenomenology in Art and Archaeological practices. Day 3Presenting and sharing work in a group review: a group feedback session with specific questions to lead discussion.
