Heritage Careers Week 2026

Heritage Careers Week returns for 2026!

This nationwide, annual week-long programme of events aims to raise awareness of the range of heritage careers in Scotland and the skills we need.

If you're a young person, parent/guardian/carer, educator, or careers advisor, come along to one of our events or activities near you. These are run by heritage organisations and employers across the country, and can include:

• Hands-on practical sessions
• Online classrooms
• Q&A sessions with professionals
• Behind-the-scenes tours
• Careers fairs
• Social media campaigns
• Practical and educational resources like toolkits, tips and advice about different careers
• And much more!

People will learn about careers and skills including: traditional crafts like stonemasonry; conservation; archaeology; green skills like gardening or environmental skills; science; digital; creative skills; tourism, and much more.
