Teachers’ Forum – Addressing the Gender Balance in Computing Science at School and Beyond
Hosted in the magnificent setting of The Mound overlooking the city, this informal event brings together teachers, advisors and industry practitioners to explore and address improving gender diversity in computing from the classroom to the boardroom.
Expect lightening talks with live case studies, animated round table discussion and plenty of time to mix with colleagues and peers over light refreshments. Debate will span classroom challenges to developing career pathways and everything in between. Bring your challenges and questions to the forum. Tell industry what you need from them.
Format:
1630 Refreshments and networking
1700 Opening remarks and short keynote presentation to trigger discussion
1715 ‘Conversation Carousel’ – rotating roundtable topics/ statements on each table to spark conversation with a LBG leader which move round (10-minute conversation per table)
1815 Closing remarks Leave with new ideas, new connections and strong links between your classroom and industry professionals.
Scheduled after school hours – the event is designed to be relaxed and inspiring way to round off the day.
