Museums Galleries Scotland & Daydream Believers: Marseum

Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) collaborated with Daydream Believers to create the Marseum learning resource, with the aim of inspiring young people to grow their confidence, develop employability skills and learn more about museums and galleries.

Marseum offers an immersive learning experience tailored for students aged 10-14, taking them on a futuristic journey where they are tasked with pioneering a one-of-a-kind museum exhibition on the Red Planet. Learners delve deep into the art of storytelling, gaining insights into the intricacies of exhibition creation, comprehending the vital role of museums, and skillfully selecting captivating narratives and objects to feature in their unique exhibition.

This is as part of, Workforce for the Future, a project in which MGS are working in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce to deliver youth employability projects in museums and schools in lower Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) areas. S1/ S2 Pupils work to co-create a resource with their local museum, learning about the diversity of job roles in the sector and increasing their employability skills.
