Careers in Horticulture – an online introduction

Horticulture is all about working with and growing plants. So, what career opportunities are available in horticulture?

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh invites you to discover what horticulture is all about, different career opportunities available, and the vital role horticulturists play. This free online course is ideal for secondary school pupils, school leavers, young adults and anyone curious!

Through a mix of interactive activities this course is your space to discover, explore and reflect if horticulture is a career area for you. You'll also get the inside scoop as horticulturists at the Botanics share their experiences and insights directly with you! We will dig into questions such as:

  • What is horticulture?
  • Who needs horticulturists?
  • What is it like to be a horticulturist and is it for me?
  • What are the next steps for growing a career in horticulture?

Plus, experience a real-life task facing the horticulture team at the Botanics and see if you can help them out!
