Dreaming Pipes: real-world problem solving across subjects (talk + live demo)
Dreaming Pipes is a live talk + demonstration using a 3D-printable smallpipes project as a case study in how real-world problem solving often cuts across subject boundaries.
Learners see how questions that begin as creative, musical, or artistic questions can quickly draw in questions of materials, tolerances, digital tools, fabrication, testing, iteration, communication and real-world constraints — and how you turn that overlap into clear, practical next steps.
Suitable for S1–S6 (adapted by age). Clear careers angle across making, engineering/manufacturing and creative/digital technologies.
Glasgow availability: w/b 14 September (timings flexible). Delivery in-school, and may also be possible at a civic venue where suitable.
