Course description

Buildings are about so much more than bricks and mortar. Consider how they live, breathe, and behave, on our HNC Construction Management course, as you take an active role in exploring the science, technology, and teamwork behind modern construction. Get hands on with building technology, practise precise site surveying, test materials and renewable systems, design with AutoCAD, create prototypes through 3D printing, and learn to coordinate people and resources to keep projects moving.

Dive into construction by doing it! Survey real sites, model ideas, make components, and manage project scenarios that mirror industry practice. Each task builds the skills you need to design, construct, and oversee the places that shape daily life, with learning that stays practical, immersive, and enjoyable throughout.

Join a programme that has supported Scotland’s construction sector for more than two decades by helping our students move into roles in project management, surveying, architectural technology, civil engineering, and planning. Whether you’re starting fresh or developing existing experience, there are clear pathways laid out for you to pursue further qualifications and progress in your profession. Many of our past students have progressed on to studying architecture, project management, civil engineering, and environmental engineering, going on to shape the industry as chartered quantity surveyors, building surveyors, contracts managers, clerks of works, estimators, buyers, site managers, lecturers, and many more.

Bring your unique potential to our experienced team and let us help you realise it. Graduate ready to influence the industry: the rest becomes your success story.
