Course description

This qualification ensures that you are up-to-date with the latest industry regulation on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. It covers the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, which came into force in June 2008. These regulations are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671). Course Content There are eight main learning outcomes delivered in this course:

  • Understanding the scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671
  • Understanding the definitions used within the BS7671
  • Understanding how to assess the general characteristics of electrical installations
  • Understanding requirements of protection for safety for electrical installations
  • Understanding the requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations
  • Understanding the requirements of the inspection and testing for electrical installations
  • Understanding the requirements of special installations or locations as identified in BS
  • Understanding the requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations Candidates are required to pass an online open book multiple choice assessment which will be offered on the last day of the course at 6pm. If candidates do not wish to attend the exam on the last day we have several dates available, details of which will be made available to you on the course.
