It covers key areas, from airfares, ticketing and tour operations to retail travel, all delivered by our highly-qualified and experienced lecturing team. You’ll also benefit from an overseas educational visit to a European destination, giving you first-hand experience of international tourism operations and cultural diversity. When you finish the course, you’ll have the skills to embark on a travel career, whether that’s as cabin crew, a travel agent, tour operator, or any other travel role.
Course description
In this HNC Travel and Tourism course, you'll cover a range of subjects designed for employment within the travel industry or to further your studies on the HND Travel and Tourism. Specific subjects you’ll study include:
- Structure of the travel and tourism industry
- Preparation for employment in travel and tourism
- Creating a culture of customer care
- Applying marketing principles in travel and tourism
- Travel and tourism: Graded unit 1
- International tourism destinations
- Communication: Business communication
- Digital marketing: Fundamentals
- Possible options
- Tour guiding and resort representation
- Food tourism and culture
- Airline and airport operations
- Practical travel and tourism visit
- Working as senior air cabin crew

Entry requirements
- NQ Travel and Tourism (Level 6), or equivalent; OR
- One Higher at grade A-C in a relevant subject (For example Accounting, Business Management, English, Maths, Geography, History, Modern Studies, Biology, Chemistry or Physics); OR
- We will consider your application if you can demonstrate an active interest in travel and tourism or have worked in the industry, but you have no formal qualifications
- You should be 16 years or over by 30 September 2026

Additional information
