Course description

In this HNC Electrical Engineering course, you'll complete a variety of units such as:

Electrical machine principles
Applications of programmable logic controllers*
DC and AC principles
Application of electrical and electronic instruments
Three phase systems
Electricity power systems
Electrical safety
Electrical networks and resonance*
Engineering mathematics 1
Communication
Energy Overview
Electrical Engineering Graded Unit 1 examination

* These units are not taught at Anniesland Campus.

Entry requirements

Minimum of one Higher, or equivalent, from English, Mathematics or Physics. Please note: Higher Applications of Maths is not the equivalent of Higher Mathematics; OR
NC Electrical Engineering (Level 6); OR
We will consider your application if you have relevant experience but no formal qualifications
If English is not your first language, then a level 6 ESOL qualification would be required, due to the technical demands of the subject.
Those applying for the Day Release / Evening course should be employed in a relevant industrial role.
