Course description
This course will enable the learner to investigate and learn about the broad range of health and social care roles in Scotland and beyond. The course consists of units which will encourage exploration of current health and social care topics and opportunities. Completion of the course will enable access to a wide range of HNC courses or employment. Further learning opportunities from HNC could include access to nursing and social work degrees.
- You will study a variety of outcomes that will offer a broad view of health and social care. Units will include values and principles, human development, prevention of infection, mental health, psychology, numeracy and academic study skills. This will enable you to experience a range of health and social care destinations.
Entry requirements
Four National 5s at Grade A or B, including English.Intermediate Certificate: Health and Social Care.Relevant industrial experience and/or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis at interview.
Learning outcome
- You will develop team working skills , presentation and problem solving.
- You will learn about academic studies and how to carry out research, this will aid you especially those considering going on to university, however those going on into employment will learn skills that can aid them understand the sector and its regulations.
