Course overview

The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) is an initial teacher training course and an internationally recognised route into the English Language teaching profession. The Cambridge CELTA is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to teach ESOL effectively across a range of contexts.

The part-time course runs from January to June.
The full-time course runs for 4 weeks in June.

Course description

What you will learn

You will study theory and methodology and learn to analyse language through tasks and discussions.
You will observe experienced ESOL practitioners and undertake six hours of teaching practice with the ESOL groups.

Entry requirements

You should be at university entry standard and have at least three Highers or equivalent.
It is strongly advised that you undertake the Introduction to TESOL with Grammar Awareness course (runs August to January annually) before the CELTA course.
