Course description
With the ever-rising danger of global warming, organizations constantly strive to become more environmentally friendly. To organize their efforts, they look for frameworks to establish robust policies and principles that make them conscious of their environmental footprint. One such framework is ISO 14001, a comprehensive standard that calls for organizations to create and implement an EMS (Environmental Management System).
ISO 14001 comes with different requirements, and organizations willing to get ISO 14001 certified must fulfill all of them. But how will one determine the commitment of these organizations to this standard? Well, they will have to hire the services of ISO 14001 internal auditors. These professionals are responsible for gauging an organization’s commitment to fulfill all the requirements of ISO 14001. They also flag the areas where organizations need to improve. This Alison course will equip students with the necessary knowledge to become ISO 14001 auditors.
Comprising seven topics arranged in two modules, this course discusses the impacts of hazardous human activities on the environment. Then, it builds a rationale for having an EMS to control these activities and how ISO 14001 can help organizations. Moving forward, it talks about the important requirements of this standard that the auditors must know, and lastly, it explains the audit process in detail. Overall, this course will turn out to be an excellent resource for both beginner and advanced learners.
