Scottish Careers Week is a chance to spark inspiration, connect with local employers and explore emerging career paths.
With an SDS Careers Adviser and DYW Co-ordinator in every state secondary school, your careers team is ready to help you plan impactful, pupil-focused events. From career fairs and work placements to parent engagement sessions, there are many ways to get involved.

- My World of Work Marketplace: the home for opportunities offered by local employers – bringing the working world to life for school pupils and students.
- DYW Live: delivered by e-Sgoil and Education Scotland, DYW Live brings industry experts and employers directly into the classroom with sessions that support learners’ development of employability skills, career pathways and industry connections. Look out for more inspirational virtual talks aimed at pupils from a wide range of industry experts during Scottish Careers Week.
- Founders4Schools: helps find local employers matching the interests of your students.
Resources for the classroom:
- My Profile: empower your pupils with this digital space where they can capture who they are, what they enjoy, achievements and what they're aiming for. It's theirs to shape and will travel with them from primary school right through to adulthood.
- Animal Me: help your pupils explore their personality and strengths to learn about jobs which might suit them.
- Skillscraft: this resource takes primary and secondary pupils on a journey through famous Scottish landmarks – playing games and exploring careers in exciting industries, that are relevant now, and in the future.
- Skills Story: your primary pupils can learn about creativity, leading, and adapting skills through a fun online activity.
- Classroom Clash: introduce your pupils to exciting careers in key industries and meta-skills with our series of nine fun games aimed at P6 to S3 pupils. Your class can compete for a top spot on our leaderboard and the sessions are easy to deliver with our engaging lesson plans.
- Meta-skills toolkit: access a suite of resources that will support practitioners to embed meta-skills into the curriculum. This includes lesson plans, bitesize activities and Meta Skills Land; a fun and play-based way of introducing and educating on meta-skills.
- Educators area: explore all our sources of support, so you can bring the world of work to life in your classroom.
