Virtual Meet the Expert: Zero Waste Scotland, Circular Economy

Provided by My World of Work Live by Skills Development Scotland
Zero Waste Scotland is a not-for-profit environmental organisation that uses evidence to motivate individuals and businesses in Scotland to embrace the benefits of a circular economy (reducing waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems). Join us with our expert Iain, who has loads of experience in sustainable resource management - he's a member of Scottish Government Groups: Economy and Environment Leaders Group, the Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme and the Expert Panel on Environmental Charges. Iain was voted the ‘most influential person in the UK waste and resource efficiency sector’ in 2014 by Resource Magazine. Iain will give us insights into his role and talk about some of the highlights: 1) Zero Waste Scotland and the lead role it takes in enabling a transition to a circular economy in Scotland and how young people are a crucial part of this 2) Future work and jobs in circular economy – can you work in insect farming in Scotland? 3) Skills required for new jobs that a circular economy will create.
