Job description

Job purpose: We are looking to offer an individual the chance to secure career within the Fire and Security industry. We provide installation and maintenance in all aspects of the industry including CCTV systems, Fire Systems, Intruder Alarm systems and Door entry/access systems. The position is full time with 20% attendance required at the Edinburgh College. Following completion of the apprenticeship successfully, you will become a full time Fire & Security Engineer with a company vehicle and progression within the business. Hours per week 40 Working week Monday-Friday 0830 - 1700 hours

What will I learn? Key Responsibilities: Learning and Skill Development: You'll learn a wide range of installation skills and processes, including observing, following instructions, and understanding how processes work. Practical Application: You'll apply your knowledge and skills to real-world projects, assisting with tasks like assembling components, testing machinery, or installing systems, depending on the specific engineering area. Collaboration and Teamwork: You'll work closely with experienced engineers and other professionals, learning from their expertise and contributing to team efforts. Documentation and Reporting: You'll learn to document your work, prepare reports, and follow established procedures. Continuous Learning: You'll combine full-time employment with part-time study, attending college for theoretical knowledge and practical training. Safety Compliance: You'll learn and follow all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.

What qualifications or qualities are required? Maths and English National 5 at grade 3 or above. • No criminal record and need to be able to pass an enhanced DBS • Hold a drivers licence or the commitment to gain one by the end of the apprenticeship • Full commitment for 36 months • Must be located within 15 miles of the Edinburgh College
