Students will understand the role of local services and how the jobs within them can contribute to their local community.
Success criteria
Students can:
- identify different jobs in my community and what they involve
- understand the importance of these jobs in my community
Before you start
- Go to myworldofwork.co.uk and register as a Primary teacher.
- Register your class to use myworldofwork.co.uk/primary.
- Arrange visits and involve pupils where appropriate.
Duration
These are suggested timescales only and will vary dependent on your group:
- 60 minutes + (will vary considerably if visits out with school are undertaken)
Suitable for
- This lesson is suitable for Second level but may be more appropriate for P5 or P6.
