Tour centre manager

"When customers who have had a nice experience pop back in or take the time to put a wee comment on our website....It's rewarding."

Clare works for Scottish ferry company Caledonian MacBrayne.

Her job is to run the centre where customers can ask about ferry journeys and excusions to the islands off the coast of Scotland and book their tickets.

Originally Clare studied food technology and worked as a lab technician but after training on the job as a customer service manager, she took this role leading the team in the Fort William centre.

She needs to make sure her team is organised and well-informed about the trips so the customers get the best holiday experience; it's also important to keep up to speed on the weather reports in case that affects the sailings!

She says, 'The part I most enjoy is meeting a wide range of people.'
