Scottish Careers Week runs from 11 to 15 November. It's your opportunity to spark career inspiration, make connections with local employers and explore exciting opportunities for your pupils.

With an SDS careers adviser and DYW coordinator in every state secondary school in Scotland, your school careers team are ready to help shape impactful events, tailored for your pupils.

From aligning your career fairs to Scottish Careers Week to sourcing hands-on work experience placements or visits with local employers, there are lots of options for getting involved.

Inspire pupils through My World of Work

Help your students shape their future careers by delivering a career-focussed class during Scottish Careers Week with our tools, games, content and teaching resources.

From helping them to learn more about their personalities and exploring careers that might suit them, to discovering where their option choices could take them, our resources are here to help you bring careers into your classroom.

There’s lots you can use with your class during Scottish Careers Week on My World of Work:

  1. Animal Me: Help your pupils explore their personality and strengths to learn about jobs which might suit them
  2. Skills Story: Suited for primary age, your pupils can learn about creativity, leading, and adapting skills through a fun online activity
  3. Classroom Clash: Introduce your pupils to exciting careers in key industries and meta-skills with our series of nine fun games aimed at P6 to S3 pupils. Your class can compete for a top spot on our leaderboard and the sessions are easy to deliver with our engaging lesson plans
  4. Explore more tools on the educator area: Find more tools and support for primary and secondary teachers
