Virtual Site Safety Presentation

Target audience - Primary School Pupil
Hadden Group are a Perthshire based construction company with sites all over Scotland. We work in a number of education establishments across the country and the safety of all staff and pupils is of paramount importance to us.

We are offering Primary Schools the unique opportunity to engage with a local employer to help educate their pupils about the importance of building site safety. It will also give kids a brief understanding of Our Business Development Assistant/Community Engagement Officer will be running these interactive presentations via Microsoft Teams. The presentations are normally done face-to-face however due to the current Covid-19 social distancing restrictions they will be done virtually.

These presentations will only be offered to primary schools within the immediate locality to where we are working.

Developing Life Skills - Art of Charisma

Target audience - Secondary S1 to S3 (11-14 year old), Secondary S4 to S6 (14-18 year old), College
Art of Charisma aims to deliver a range of modules of which the end goal is to develop pupils' life and employability skills. We aim to create an environment where pupils feel secure and are helped to grow towards becoming confident individuals, successful leaders, effective contributors and responsible citizens. The pupils will use high-quality conversations to help deepen and extend their thinking and learning for when they move onto the working world with life-long learning skills, an ability to work independently, and a passion and thirst for developing strong relationships and managing conflict in the workplace. Our aim is to give the pupils the tools to empower themselves so that their charisma becomes organic to them in any situation, albeit in the workplace, school, university or in an application process. This will be achieved, through presentations, group exercises & videos that will cover the following modules: 1. Killer First Impressions – Having the right mindset, answering common questions, remembering names and building emotions 2. Expert Conversations – Relating to people, connecting with others, activating your body. 3. Storytelling – Importance of stories, story Arc, and working stories into the conversation. 4. Leadership – Motivation, Positivity, Presentations 5. Magnetic Presence – carrying yourself, gesticulation and tonality and pulling people into conversations and groups, showing an interest and not looking bored. 6. Confidence – Conviction, courage, overconfidence, engaging people, being confident not arrogant 7. Work Relationships – creating relationships, mistakes to avoid, and how work impacts your relationships, be able to connect with older more successful mentors, 8. Groups – Managing cliques, active listening, dealing with being overwhelmed, questions to ask and questions not to ask. Together by applying the above pupils can learn to become more confident and assertive, which will in turn benefit their lifelong skills, by becoming more memorable within an interview or application process, successfully networking, win over and influence others in a work environment, communicate and negotiate timescales, work flow and prices, confidence and problem /conflict handling as well as leadership skills and maintaining good working relationships. These will also make an impact into their social and mental well-being. This programme fits in with the learner journey, enabling students to have the understanding, ability, and opportunity to be part of the practical discussions, debates and role play sessions and to take action to intervene in the learning process, to affect outcomes and become powerful lifelong learners This programme includes 8 modules (titled above) each lasting 50 minutes per module. The whole programme will cover 8 weeks by completing one, 50 minute module per week. There will be a maximum of 10 pupils per online classroom. There is no limit on the amount of schools which can participate

Our Business Development Assistant Mark will be talking pupils through the many different career options available to young people within such an exciting industry. We are looking to engage with Schools within the locality of the areas we are working in.

Hadden are thrilled to be offering this fantastic opportunity to young people looking to enhance their interview skills. This session will not only help them progress into the world of work but will also be a chance to engage with an employer who take on a number of young people looking pursue a career within the construction industry. The valuable skills gained during these sessions can be transferred to an interview for a job or an interview for a higher education facility.

Free Financial Education for Teachers and Lecturers

Teachers Financial Education

Not only do we offer this to your young people, we can also provide a session for your staff which can be delivered as part of your Staff Well-being Programme. This can be covered in an inservice environment or at the end of a school day as part of a CPD programme.

Laura Pike specialises in providing no-obligation advice to help meet the financial needs of educational professionals. As a former teacher of 20 years and now a financial adviser, she is aware of the many life events that may have affected her own pension and how understanding the basics of this can be challenging.

Maternity leave, ill-health, stepping down from a leadership role, as well as striving to take early retirement are all reasons why we may have questions regarding our pensions and how that may affect us in the future.

Typical areas she can assist in are:

• Retirement planning – whether you are starting out or getting out, understanding the basics. What does it all mean?
• Discuss ways to ensure your family is protected in the event of premature death
• Consider the impact of ill-health, how it could affect you and your family now and in the future.
• Discuss and implement ways to increase your retirement benefits
• Review how savings beyond retirement planning can be maximised and kept as tax efficient as possible

Having already had a stream of successful sessions in North - East Schools, Laura already feels she is already making a difference to teachers’ understanding of when retirement planning should begin. It is never too early! This session is targeted at teachers from their probation year to retirement and beyond….

Having been a teacher in Schools all over Scotland and the North-East and now a Financial Adviser I am passionate about the growth of Financial Education in Schools and Colleges.

At Alan Rutherford Wealth Management Ltd, A Partner Practice as part of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, especially at this time, we are keen to support the Financial Education of young people and we would like to offer your school the chance to receive a programme we have created alongside teachers and financial education specialists.

Financial Education is a crucial area of learning which has a heavy impact on the future of young people. For this reason, we have a range of programmes available.
Our sessions are interactive and engaging – we only work with class sizes of up to 35 students at one time . Because of the current restrictions many of our modules can still be delivered remotely. The programme itself does not have to be done in full.
It can be done in separate modules. (see below).
• We can visit locations across the UK dependent on current restrictions – this can be run remotely
• These programmes are free and we will provide everything for the sessions – including high quality resources and professional PowerPoint presentations
• We run the sessions, with teacher support in the classroom
• The feedback we receive from our sessions is always positive, and we will analyse the impact of every session for you to see.

Secondary school programme
We have two modular programmes for secondary schools, which we have been delivering for several years – one for 13-15 year olds and the other for 16-18 year olds or beyond.
We can tailor the secondary school programme to work for you and best meet your desired curriculum outcomes. Please let us know what areas you would be most interested in from the available modules. Each module is designed to last one to one and a half hours.
We will endeavour to meet the needs of each school, college and their young people as we respect the diversity and constraints that each school has.
As part of the programme, we measure pupil development from the start to the end of the day; we will pass the results back to you for your own quality control and use in official reports.
