This course will focus on progression with an emphasis on essential skills of Numeracy, Communication, ICT and Personal Development Planning. In addition, tasters in various vocational areas will be organised to allow participants to explore next steps.

A short course for individuals who would benefit from improving their personal development as well as employment skills within an animal care setting. There will be practical sessions where students will learn to care for a range of animals.

Intended for students who would like to learn basic animal care skills while building on their own life and employment skills.

Specifically designed for candidates who want to fast-track into the uniformed and military services. There is a strong emphasis on developing physical fitness, problem solving, team building, core and essential skills. Input from partners in the civilian and military services provides unique insight to real-life experiences. Students are required to attend college for four full days per week.

A full-time course that focuses on exploring options at college whilst developing skills in a range of areas including raising confidence & aspirations, improving teamwork skills and developing coping strategies for different situations (such as managing feelings, dealing with conflict & emotions and goal setting). Academic achievements will be raised through nationally-recognised qualifications from both SQA and City & Guilds. In addition, a third of the course will be spent studying in a vocational area of your choice developing the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed to support successful transition to a relevant course.

A 12-week personal development course where candidates have opportunities to develop abilities in Leadership, Caring for Others, Motivation, Tolerance, Confidence, and Taking Responsibility. Team members participate in a 2-week work placement, a week long outward bound/team building residential trip, community and environmental projects and a final team challenge. They are also given the opportunity for 1 day courses such as First Aid; Health & Safety; and Food Hygiene. Team members will also undertake a Communication qualification.

This is a fast-tracked advanced cookery course completed over a 6-month period for those who want to advance their basic skills in cookery. Units include REHIS hygiene; prepare and cook basic meat; fish and poultry dish; and prepare and cook basic hot and cold desserts.

This course is ideal for candidates working in the industry who want to advance their skills in a shorter period or for progression from level 4 in Hospitality and Professional cookery requiring a shorter route into work.

Designed to prepare students to enter degree level study at university this course comprises 18 credits (care related units and core skills) and includes an externally marked project-based assessment and a voluntary placement element.

This is a flexible programme covering a range of topics which will give learners a springboard into further study in three different areas: Accounts; Business Administration and IT; or Business Management.

The qualification has been designed to provide candidates a unique opportunity to study over one academic semester, providing a good all-round knowledge and an opportunity to establish good core skills such as; communication, IT, problem solving, working with others and numeracy skills. It aims to prepare candidates for employment or for progression to further academic qualifications.

Exploring the key issues involved in supporting the care, learning and development of children and young people. Subjects studied include: child development, services for children, play, understanding how to work with children, supporting behaviour. Learners will also be expected to undertake some voluntary work in a child care setting.
