Administration and IT cuts across all sectors of the economy and offers wide-ranging employment opportunities. The National 5 Administration and IT course provides candidates with experience of real-life administration tasks and engaging practical activities relevant to the world of work. There is an emphasis on the development of transferable life skills and the application of these skills. It enables candidates to: develop an understanding of administration theory in the workplace, develop IT skills and use them to perform administrative tasks, acquire organisational skills in the context of organising and supporting events

School Transition Form Entry is at the discretion of the centre but, while no formal entry qualifications are required, it would be beneficial if candidates embarking on the course were working towards National 4 qualifications, that includes Administration and IT: An Introduction. An excellent attendance record in school
