Course description
Upon successful completion of end tests, this course leads to the candidate being registered by The Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association (PASMA) and the issue of a nationally recognised PASMA Certificate and Card which is valid for 5 years. The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: - Safely erect and dismantle aluminium scaffolding in accordance with manufacturers erection guides - Carry out pre-use inspection - Understand the causes of instability - Have an understanding of responsibilities under HSWA & other current relevant legislation. Course Summary: - HWSA - PUWR - LOLER - Other current relevant regulations - Introduction to Aluminium Towers - Tower erection and dismantle - Tower stability - Safe use of towers - Tower inspection - Care and maintenance - Regulation and standards A highly participative course with demonstrations highlighted by use of Powerpoint and videos along with group and individual exercises. Entry requirements
This course is designed for all personnel required to use, supervise, or inspect aluminium scaffolding. As the assembly and use of towers can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness. If you have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about your fitness to use towers, you must bring them to the attention of your employer. This need not preclude you from using towers, provided your employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties you may have.
