Mobile Elevating Work Platforms: IPAF Boom

Course description

Upon successful completion of end tests, this course leads to the candidate being registered by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and the issue of a nationally recognised IPAF Certificate and Card which is valid for 5 years. The course will enable delegates to: - Operate machine safely & correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions & accepted good practice - Site and operate machine safely in relation to task - Load and unload machine off a road transporter - Understand the responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Act and other current relevant legislation The course will cover the following: - L.O.L.E.R. - P.U.W.E.R. - H.S.W.A. - Other current relevant regulations - Introduction to machine - Controls and instruments - Pre-shift inspections - Operator's code of safe practice - Components and types of mobile elevating work platform - Limitation of use - Moving and locating machine - Emergency controls - Servicing and inspection - Safe working envelope
