Course description
The aim of the course is to provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating a Lorry Loader. The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to: · Operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and accept good practice. · Carry out a pre-shift inspection. · Operate safely under varying site conditions. · Load/unload lorry by slinging loads from crane. · Set stabilisers correctly - have machine stable and level. · Engage/disengage PTO correctly. · Carry out minor adjustments and routine service. · Have sufficient knowledge and practical skills to successfully complete the NPORS assessment, Course Summary · An Introduction to the Construction Industry · Current relevant regulations · Introduction to machine · Pre shift inspections · Controls and instruments · Components and main types of lorry loaders · Use of the loader to load and unload the bed of the lorry · CPCS assessment, which includes Theory & Practical elements. All candidates will complete the Full (Theory & Practical) CPCS Technical Test and on successful completion will be issued with a CPCS Red Trained Operators Card.
Entry requirements
Must pass the CPCS H&S Touch screen test (valid within 24 months). This course is recommended for all personnel required to operate a lorry loader.
