Course description

Aimed at those who want to add to their employment prospects by having a basic first aid qualification or for people in work who want to feel more comfortable in an emergency situation where there is a need to administer first aid to an adult but the designated first aider is not present. The course contains the following: - The role of the first aider - Effective Casualty Communication - Contents of First Aid box & how to avoiding cross infection - Recording of incidents and accidents - Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency - Administer First Aid to a casualty who is unconscious -require CPR -are choking -are wounded or bleeding -are in shock -have minor conditions - which include: minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns & scalds, small splinters Certification provided by REHIS.
