Course description
This course will help people who are unemployed and wish to add to their skill set/CV gain a nationally recognised qualification valid for three years. This will allow them to apply for new employment and make them more attractive to future employers. It can also help low paid workers progress within their career path and allow them to develop personally, gain life saving skills and ensure long term sustainable employment. This course is designed to meet the requirements of a first aider within a lower risk environment. Our training sessions are very interactive, engaging and fully comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and are consistent with the current ERC/UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Course Content: • The role of the first aider and special considerations • Incident Procedure – The Primary Survey • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) • Practical use of a defibrillator / AED • Record keeping and first aid kit advice • We also look at how to recognise and deal with: • Collapse • Seizures • Choking • Bleeding • Shock • Minor Injuries All of our courses are hands-on. We will show the delegates how to do something – then they will have a go. We practice how to deal with whole incidents, from finding someone in need to the point where they are handed over to the professionals. After all, when someone becomes ill or is injured, the first aider needs to manage the whole incident – not just be able to perform a couple of stand-alone skills.
