Course description

This course will enhance the employment prospects of drivers hoping to enter the transport industry. 2 day course 14 Hours - choose from the following subject areas: - Digital Tachograph and Drivers Hours Regulations and Records - Health and Safety - Vehicle Marshalling - Emergency 1st Aid - Bridge Strikes and Fire - Company Cards - EC Drivers Hours Regulations Emergency 1st Aid at Work - Carry out the roles and responsibilities of a first aider until medical help is available - Airway, Breathing, Circulation - Act in an emergency situation - Care for an unconscious casualty - Deal with circulatory and or anaphylactic shock - Carry out Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Deal with a choking casualty - Deal with a casualty suffering from a seizure - Deal with minor injuries and external bleeding Health & Safety At Work - Employer and employee responsibilities and the impact of HSAW Act - Health Issues - Fatigue and Stress - Use of Alcohol /Drugs and their effects - Personal Protection - Personal Safety Awareness Manual Handling - Following Appropriate Systems of Work - Health & Safety at Work Regulations - Making Proper Use of Equipment Provided - The Forces of Gravity - Restraining Systems and Forces of Restraint - Correct Posture Customer Care - The Role of the Driver - Carrying Capacities - School Buses - Commercial Passengers - Delivering on Customer's Premises - Respond Quickly to Requests for Assistance - Ensure Complaints are Dealt with Efficiently and Fairly - Sharing Good Practice. Driver CPC is a certificate of professional competence which has been introduced to improve road safety and maintain high driving standards across Europe. Drivers must accrue 35 hours Periodic Training every 5 years. This course enables drivers to accrue those 21 hours over 4 days. New drivers who require a PCV/LGV vocational entitlement will have to obtain the initial Qualification in addition to their licence to drive professionally. The 14 hours can cover both LGV and PSV Elements of Drivers CPC
