This qualification covers areas such as work responsibilities, document production and design, managing events, customer service, managing business resources, and managing information and data. This course is about managing workload, communicating, and planning, and improving own performance in a business environment. Upon successful completion, learners will gain an international recognised qualification from SQA which guarantees that they have the skills, knowledge and abilities required to carry out their role successfully. The level 3 SVQ could provide progression to: • SVQ 5 SCQF Level 8 Business Administration • an HNC/HND in Administration and IT, Business or h other related area • a PDA in a business related subject Studying an SVQ can also provide the possibility of progression and promotion within the workplace, as well as employment opportunities in the following area: • Personal assistant • Senior Secretary • Project Assistant • Office Supervisor • Team Leader • Office Manager • Administrator (general or sector specific) • Business Support/Development Officer • Events Supervisor • Finance Advisor • Customer Service Supervisor This course is aimed at low-income individuals who are in an administration role looking to progress in their current role or develop skills for future employment. A work-based assessor will guide you through your award to ensure that you are submitting relevant documentation for your portfolio. Most assessment will be based on performance evidence, ie observation (in person, video recordings) and work products generated ie (documents, letters, spreadsheets, travel/accommodation bookings, receipts, e-mail correspondence, database reports, graphic elements, etc).
Must be working in a business and administration environment to allow you to undertake the award. No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although experience in and/or knowledge of the subject would be an advantage, particularly at SCQF levels 6 and 8.
