By enrolling in this course, you will learn how to follow and support routine procedures in an office and understand how to communicate in a business environment. It involves a greater range of activities with some degree of complexity and limited autonomy. This qualification covers areas such as document production, supporting events, meetings and diaries, customer service, IT and various specialist administrative functions. Upon successful completion, learners will gain an international recognised qualification from SQA which guarantees that they have the skills, knowledge and abilities required to carry out their role successfully. The level 2 SVQ could provide progression to: • SVQ 3 SCQF Level 6 Business Administration • an HNC/HND in Administration and IT, Business, or other related area • a PDA in a business-related subject Studying an SVQ can also provide the possibility of progression and promotion within the workplace, as well as employment opportunities in the following area: • Secretary • Receptionist • Administrator (general or sector specific) • Office Assistant • Customer Service Advisor This course is aimed at low-income individuals who are in an administration role looking to progress in their current role or develop skills for future employment. A work-based assessor will guide you through your award to ensure that you are submitting relevant documentation for your portfolio. Most assessment will be based on performance evidence, ie observation (in person, video recordings with your assessor) and work products generated by yourself (documents, letters, spreadsheets, travel/accommodation bookings, receipts, e-mail correspondence, database reports, graphic elements, etc). The specific evidence produced will depend on the choice of optional units. Holistic assessment is encouraged — gathering evidence towards more than one unit in the same assessment occasion.
Must be working in a business and administration environment to allow you to undertake the award.
