Course description
Aims - This vocational course aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to work with children 0 - 16 years in a variety of settings and to qualify students to work in a supervisory capacity. The standards, assessment strategy and award structures are owned by Skills for Care and Development (of which the Scottish Social Services Council are partners) and Skills for Health. Content - To achieve the SVQ level 3, candidates are required to complete eight Units. Four core/mandatory Units plus four optional Units. Assessment - Assessment is carried out in the workplace and is continuous, students attend college for underpinning knowledge element. Progression - BA Child and Youth Studies
Entry requirements
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. Students should have attained one of the following: SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF level 6 NC Early Education and Childcare
