Course description
Aims - This vocational course aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to work with children 0 - 16 years in a variety of settings and to qualify students to nursery assistant level. On achievement of the qualification students will be able to register as a support worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The standards, assessment strategy and award structures are owned by Skills for Care and Development (of which the Scottish Social Services Council are partners) and Skills for Health. Content - To achieve the SVQ level 2, candidates are required to complete six Units. Four core/mandatory Units plus two optional Units
Entry requirements
Current or previous experience working in an early years setting. Successful completion of 'Childhood Studies: an Introduction'. You must be willing to attend Placement. You must be willing to undergo a PVG check
