Course description

There are many reasons why someone chooses to attend a PAT course; they may need to learn PAT in order to maintain their office appliances in line with regulations, they may want to be their own boss and set up a PAT business, or they may want to learn another skill. PAT training will benefit each of these groups as they provide a learning syllabus delivered by experienced industry experts who are on hand to offer guidance and help throughout the course duration. In order to ensure that all participants are fully ready to undertake PAT testing we will give training on not only the practical side of testing but also the health and safety requirements and the relevant regulations so that those who complete and pass this course know the importance of doing the testing properly and to a high standard. The full course programme will cover the following topics in detail: • Principles of Electricity • Classification of Appliances • Electrical Dangers • Legal Requirements • IEE Code of Practice • Recording Results • Hands on experience using a PAT tester • Health and Safety regulations pertaining to PAT testing. The course involves training along with a full practical exercise and assessment of the learners in using a PAT machine. The trainer will test you with mock questions as a precursor to the final exam. During the course we use a DVD to further underpin the learning that has taken place with the practical hands on experience. This DVD has been endorsed by NAPIT (National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers). The training covers all the aspects of testing to make sure the trainee not only applies the learning but also confirms the principles. Our highly experienced and qualified trainer will deliver training in either an Apex office or at the premises of an organisation or company. Successful participants will receive a PASS certified certificate of competence.
