Paul’s role as an interpreter means that he can help two people to communicate who couldn’t previously do so.

His working life began with cleaning jobs and waiting tables. He then decided to attend sign language classes because he wanted to talk to his deaf neighbour for the first time.

When Paul's instructor told him to consider a career in interpreting – that’s exactly what he did. After studying interpreting at university, he enjoyed it so much that he decided to make it his full-time career.

He's now studying for his masters in interpreting, and his passion for the subject hasn’t faltered one bit.

'I love being an interpreter; I think it’s the best job in the world.’
