Employability officer

Lori's job is to help other women into work.

As the employability officer for Amina in Dundee, she helps Muslim women to find opportunities to get into work, training or volunteering.

'To do my job, you need to be creative and think on your feet.'

Customer service

Communication skills are a big part of Lori's role, but her strong background in customer service helps. While she was a student, she worked answering calls in a call centre, then as a customer adviser at Marks & Spencer. 

Then as part of the checkout team at Tesco, she led up to 50 other members of staff to deliver great customer service. 

That meant she had the right skills to take on her first role at Amina, as volunteer coordinator.
