Dental nurse

'There's a lot of nervous patients so it's nice to see them develop.'

Victoria is a dental nurse at Visage in Glasgow.

She became interested in the role when she had a school work experience placement with a dentist.

That led to a Saturday job and she started working full-time at the practice as receptionist when she left school.

Victoria qualified as a dental nurse by studying and working at the same time. Now she's always looking to learn more.

‘I went into orthodontics, which is braces, and it’s a field in dental work that I really enjoy,’ she says.

‘I then did my radiography exam which is dental x-rays and impression taking. Dental hygiene is also something that I’ve been interested in and I’m looking at maybe going down that route too.’
