The Course Choices tool allows you to search for a large range of opportunities across Scotland.

The search results include college, university, private training provider, community learning and development (CLD) and National Training Programme provision.

Within the course search you can filter for courses that are particularly relevant to 16–19-year-olds, called 16 19 Choices. This filtered search includes options for further education courses, National Training Programmes, or volunteering.

When using the Course Choices search you have the following options –

  • Search type – General search or 16 19 Choices
  • Where? – Here you can enter the name of town or city, your postcode or even a partial postcode. You can also filter with distance from 10 to 50 miles
  • Course provider – Use this if you want to study with a particular provider e.g. Cardonald College or Blueprint Training Solutions
  • Sort by – Relevance or distance, whatever is more important to you.

After clicking on the Search button with the above options you can specify further –

  • Qualification – This dropdown menu presents you with qualifications that are available to study e.g. HNC/HND, Access course or Customised Training. You can also filter by Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) rating if you have this information
  • Attendance – Here you can select options including full time or part time
  • Cost – Options of less than £100, less than £500 or less than £1000
  • Local Authority – Filter to show all courses available in your local authority area
