Inverclyde Future Fest
When: 22 May, 10am-3pm
Where: Greenock Town Hall
This event is for summer leavers from Inverclyde schools and anyone else looking for work. JobCentre Plus and a number of other organisations will be on hand to offer information and advice on learning and training, job hunting and voluntary opportunities.
PACE redundancy support event – Inverness
When: Wednesday 23 May
Where: Inverness College, Longman Road – 6–8pm
This event is open to anyone in the area who is facing redundancy. Come along for advice on benefits and tax credits, job hunting, starting a business, local training opportunties and alternative employement in the area.
PACE redundancy support event – Stornoway and South Uist
When: Wednesday 23 May
Where: The Bridge Centre, Bayhead Street, Stornoway – 12–2pm AND Cothrom, Ormiclate, South Uist – 3.30–5pm

Skills Scotland
When and where:
- Edinburgh – 30 October 2012, Royal Highland Centre
- Glasgow – 7 and 8 November 2012, SECC
- Aberdeen – 20 November 2012, AECC
Skills Scotland events are inspirational, free careers and skills festivals for 14-19 year olds. At the events they can try different activities that give them a taste of the skills and challenges they will meet in a range of careers.
Activities might include:
- Wheel change challenges with students studying auto repair
- Pancake flipping with a hotel and hospitality team
- Changing a nappy with childcare trainers; building a slate roof with construction lecturers
- Restyling a hairdo with hairdressing academies
- Pedalling a dynamo to light a bulb with energy providers
